Silent Hill: Downpour v1.1.8 (rexglue port by Little Bit)
==========================================================

v1.1.8 = v1.1.7 + one hotfix (issue #29): the v1.1.7 build refused to
start on Windows 10 / older Windows 11 with "Failed to get an adapter
supporting Direct3D 12" because the executable demanded a DirectX
Agility runtime that was not in the package. v1.1.8 uses the system
Direct3D 12 runtime again, exactly like v1.1.6. Nothing else changed.

v1.1.7 itself was NOT a final release -- a compilation of every update
that piled up on the dev machine since v1.1.6, shipped as one package
before something bigger that is already in the works.

What's new in v1.1.7 (carried into v1.1.8)
------------------------------------------
* FIRST-RUN DISC IMAGE INSTALLER (community contribution by Alexbeav).
  Fresh install? Point the wizard at YOUR OWN Silent Hill: Downpour ISO
  (Redump / XGD3 / raw dump auto-detected) -- it extracts the game data
  itself and stages Title Update 1 for you. Resumable if interrupted.
* NO MORE AVX2 REQUIREMENT. Pre-2013 CPUs (FX-8300 class) used to die
  with 0xc0000142 before the first log line. The runtime now needs only
  baseline x86-64 + SSSE3.
* MOUSE LOOK REBUILT ON RAW INPUT. Direct displacement mapping: motion
  this frame = camera turn this frame, hand stops = camera stops. No
  smoothing lag, no drift tail, small motions no longer eaten by the
  stick deadzone. UPGRADERS: open Settings -> Mouse and set
  Raw Input Scale = 0.6, Stick Scale = 800 (the v1.1.7 mapping uses
  these differently than v1.1.6; your old values will feel slow).
* NINE CORRECTNESS FIXES ported from upstream ReXGlue v0.10 --
  occlusion queries, GPU page-state coherency, guest register
  preservation (APC + fiber switches), audio-stretch timer fix, faster
  file opens, better crash diagnostics.
* AUDIO MIX FIXES. The 5.1->stereo fold no longer throws away the LFE
  channel (bass/thunder is back on stereo and headphones) and one-shot
  SFX no longer inherit the previous sound's spectral tail (crunch).
* ACHIEVEMENTS with unlock toasts, tracked locally. Press F7 in-game
  for the list. No Xbox Live, nothing leaves your machine.
* Log cleanup, F4 settings cleaned of dead experimental cvars.

HOTFIX 2026-09-03 (issue #29): the first v1.1.7 build refused to start on
Windows 10 / older Windows 11 with "Failed to get an adapter supporting
Direct3D 12" -- it asked for a DirectX Agility runtime that was not in the
zip. This build uses the system Direct3D 12 runtime again, exactly like
v1.1.6. If you hit that error, re-download this zip (or run the auto-update
again) and replace downpour.exe.

NEW REQUIRED FILE: amd_fidelityfx_dx12drel.dll now ships in this zip --
the v1.1.7 runtime imports it directly (FidelityFX / FSR3 backend).
IF YOU AUTO-UPDATED from v1.1.6 or older and the game complains that
amd_fidelityfx_dx12drel.dll was not found: the OLD updater did not know
about this file. Copy it from this zip next to downpour.exe once --
done. Updates from v1.1.7 onward carry it automatically.

Auto-update behaviour is otherwise unchanged (launch, click the pill
banner). Your saves, settings, and shader cache are preserved, with the
pre-update backup zip in %TEMP% as the safety net.

Earlier releases (recap)
------------------------
* v1.1.6 - pre-update save backup + raw-input toggle + launcher sliders
* v1.1.5 - cosmetic title fix (kLauncherVersion drives Win11 title)
* v1.1.4 - real fix for "mouse very slow" (mnk_stick_scale cvar)
* v1.1.3 - mnk_raw_input_scale cvar (mouse calibration tunable)
* v1.1.2 - WM_INPUT raw mouse + vsync default fix + scale auto-tune
* v1.1.1 - F4 SaveConfig self-heal + auto-update log + batched memexport
* v1.1 - auto-update from GitHub, AMD vendor detection, cursor capture
* v1.0 - initial public release

Same setup + requirements as previous releases (minus the AVX2 one).
See README on the repo for the full v1.1.7 mouse-tuning guide.
