DISCLAIMER
----------
This package was put together by Jack Poison, working with AI assistance
(Anthropic's Claude). The AI wrote and debugged a large share of the code
in this port -- the in-game settings overlay, the controller-remapping and
cheat pages, the free-camera wiring, the FMV replacement path, several
static-recompiler codegen fixes, and this packaging -- under Jack Poison's
direction, with testing and decisions made by him.

It is an unofficial fan project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or
connected to any of the projects or companies named below.

No game data or game code is included. You supply a GameCube disc image
that you already have; setup extracts it and recompiles it on your machine.

CREDIT WHERE IT IS DUE
----------------------
Almost none of the heavy lifting here is original. This project is a thin
layer on top of other people's work:

  Dolphin Emulator Project
The runtime is Dolphin. Graphics, audio, input, savestates, the GameCube
hardware emulation and the Vulkan backend are all theirs. The settings
overlay is drawn with Dolphin's existing ImGui integration.
    GPL-2.0-or-later -- https://dolphin-emu.org

  ExpansionPak - ModernGekko
The chassis that hosts a statically recompiled game inside Dolphin, and
the StaticRecomp CPU core that hands execution between recompiled code
    and the emulator. https://github.com/ExpansionPak/ModernGekko

  ExpansionPak - DolRecomp
The static recompiler that translates GameCube PowerPC code into C.
Included here as tools/dolrecomp so you can build your own module.
    GPL-3.0-or-later -- https://github.com/ExpansionPak/DolRecomp

Dear ImGui (Omar Cornut and contributors)
The immediate-mode UI the settings menu is built on. MIT licence.

  FFmpeg
Used as a separate program to decode the game's Sofdec video, replacing
the software decoder. Not linked into this binary.

  Bandai Namco Entertainment
Original game, its code and all its assets. Not included, not
redistributed, and not ours. All rights remain theirs.

  Cheat codes
Action Replay codes are published community data (Codejunkies, via
Almar's Guides). None were written here.

  project followed.

LICENCES
--------
  Runtime (Dolphin-derived) GPL-2.0-or-later
  ModernGekko GPL
  DolRecomp GPL-3.0-or-later
  Dear ImGui MIT

The GPL requires that anyone receiving these binaries can get the matching
source. It is in source/ :

ModernGekko-b79d991ab780.tar.gz ModernGekko at the built commit
ModernGekko-dolphin-1873066167f3.tar.gz the Dolphin tree it vendors
ModernGekko-dolphin-new-files.tar.gz new files added by this project
  DolRecomp-2595de599288.tar.gz the recompiler
DolRecomp-new-files.tar.gz its IR and LLVM backend, added here
  *-local-changes.patch every modification made here

Apply the patches to the matching archives, then add the new-files
archives, to reproduce exactly what these binaries were built from.

If you pass this package on, keep source/ with it.

Anything setup builds from your disc is derived from the game itself.
Keep it to yourself.

FFmpeg (Windows packages only)
------------------------------
This package bundles ffmpeg.exe. The game's movies are Sofdec (MPEG) video
inside movie.afs, and the FMV path decodes them by running ffmpeg. On Linux
ffmpeg comes from the distribution; Windows has none, so it ships here.
Without it the movies are a black screen with the audio still playing.

  Build BtbN FFmpeg-Builds, ffmpeg-n9.0-latest-win64-lgpl-9.0 (static)
  Licence LGPL-3.0-or-later (built --enable-version3)
Modified no -- shipped exactly as published, byte for byte

The exact build is whichever that rolling asset held when this package was
made; `ffmpeg.exe -version` in this folder prints it, and that string is what
  identifies the source revision below.

LGPL requires that you can get the source for this component and relink it.
Both halves are public and unmodified:

    FFmpeg source, tag n9.0.1 https://github.com/FFmpeg/FFmpeg
    the build recipe used https://github.com/BtbN/FFmpeg-Builds

This build deliberately excludes the GPL-only encoders (no libx264, libx265,
libxvid, libdavs2, libxavs2), which is why it is LGPL rather than GPL and why
it imposes no licence obligation on the rest of this package. Do not swap in
a "-gpl" ffmpeg build without revisiting that: it would make the combined
distribution GPL-3.0, which conflicts with the GPL-2.0 runtime.

ffmpeg is not started with any input this project does not construct itself:
the only invocation is a read of the player's own movie.afs.
